Enrollment open for District 191 preschool program

Enrollment is now open for Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) in Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District 191. 

VPK is a free or low-cost, high quality preschool program available at all District 191 elementary schools. Sessions are held weekdays from 9 a.m. to noon and 12:55 p.m. to 3:55 p.m. Lunch is provided at both sessions. A 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. option is available at Diamondhead Education Center, 200 Burnsville Parkway.

Cost varies based on eligibility. To enroll, students must be 4 years old by Sept. 1. 

Pre-kindergarten classes provide children with a strong foundation for future learning by developing early literacy, math and problem-solving skills in a fun, hands-on environment. They help children build social-emotional skills such as sharing, cooperation and communication, which are essential for success in kindergarten and beyond. Pre-kindergarten also fosters curiosity and a love of learning while helping children adjust to classroom routines, giving them a confident and smooth transition into elementary school.
